We didn't find
peace. We built it.

The story of two siblings who hit their limits — and found their purpose.

OUR STORY

Why We Created Soul Sojourn

Two high-achievers. Two different worlds. One identical realisation — far too late. Between them, Anita and Fawad have lived decades inside the kind of lives that look like success from the outside — corporate boardrooms, television studios, business empires built across continents, high-pressure careers that rewarded output and quietly punished rest. They were capable. Dependable. Always on. And for years, neither fully understood what that relentless pace was costing them beneath the surface. Soul Sojoum was not born in a boardroom. It was born in the gap between who they had been performing as — and who they actually were. From the hard-won recognition that the body keeps score, that the nervous system has limits, and that no level of achievement fills the space that stillness leaves empty. They built what they wished had existed when they needed it most. Not a retreat from life — a return to it. That’s why Soul Sojourn exists. And why it was always going to.
CO-FOUNDER
Meet Anita
Anita spent fifteen years at the heart of Pakistan’s high-powered corporate financial world — leading marketing and communications for prominent banks and mutual funds, hosting a live television show that brought her face to face with the country’s top CEOs and CFOs, and analysing markets across five channels simultaneously. From the outside, it looked like success. And in many ways, it was. But beneath the relentless capability, the constant availability, and the quiet belief that rest was something other people got to have, Anita’s own nervous system was running on empty. She didn’t fully understand that until much later than she wishes she had. Soul Sojourn was not built from research. It was built from recognition — from finally understanding what years of high performance does to a person, and from refusing to let that understanding go to waste.
CO-FOUNDER
Meet Fawad
Fawad trained in medical sciences — a foundation that gave him a precise, scientific understanding of the human body. But like many high-achievers, knowledge and self-care turned out to be very different things. He built businesses in North America, ran them under the kind of pressure that the corporate world quietly normalises, and did it well — for decades. What eroded in the process wasn’t visible on any balance sheet. It was the connection to himself. Three decades in, he made a different kind of decision. Not to walk away from life — but to walk toward the parts of it he had never made time for. The journey inward became the most demanding and most rewarding work he has ever done. Soul Sojourn is not a pivot. It is the next step on a life lived in full.
OUR VALUES

What we hold
non-negotiable.

Safety first

No practice here will push you before you are ready. We cultivate safety as the prerequisite of all healing.

Integrity always

We do not teach what we do not live. Our practices are personal before they are professional.

Evidence-informed

Ancient wisdom and modern science are not in competition. We honour both, rigorously.

Radical inclusion

No prior experience required. No body type, background, or belief system excluded.

Small & curated

We keep groups small deliberately. Real transformation happens in kinship, not in crowds.

The long game

We care about what happens after you leave. Our follow-up support reflects that commitment.

OUR APPROACH

How we work.

Nervous System First

Every session begins with nervous system orientation — bringing participants into ventral vagal safety before any deeper work is attempted.

Somatic before Cognitive

We start with the body, not the mind. The body holds the map. We follow it.

Nature as Co-Facilitator

The landscape of Pakistan — mountains, rivers, ancient apricot orchards of the Gilgit Baltistan, or the lush green picturesque Galliyat, be it the ocean, the delicious street style food or Karachi’s upscale food scene, Lahore’s cultural heritage, rich art, drama and theatre or Multan’s Sufi shrines— are not backdrops. They are integral to the healing process.

Integration Built In

Every practice is followed by space for integration: journaling, silence, gentle movement, or supported conversation.

Trauma-Informed Always

Our facilitators are trained in trauma-sensitive facilitation. Consent, choice, and autonomy are non-negotiable principles throughout.

Post-Retreat Support

The work does not end when you leave. We provide post-retreat social platform for all participants to support, encourage and share post-treat experiences with each other and Soul Sojourn.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND OUR WORK

Grounded in research.

Soul Sojourn’s curriculum draws on decades of peer-reviewed research in psychoneuroimmunology, polyvagal theory, mindfulness-based interventions, and trauma recovery. We stay current with emerging literature and continually evolve our practices accordingly.

  • Dr. Stephen Porges’ Polyvagal Theory
  • Peter Levine’s Somatic Experiencing®
  • Jon Kabat-Zinn’s MBSR Framework
  • Bessel van der Kolk’s Trauma Research

Proprietary Frameworks

“We don’t just guide you — we measure you.”

Our Stillness Index Assessment™ (SIA) and Nervous System Resilience Score™ (NSRS) are conducted pre-, mid-, and post-retreat, giving every participant a precise, personal map of their transformation.

Our vision is to build a community of practice that extends beyond retreat weeks—a gathering of people committed to living from a regulated, present, and embodied place. We are building the infrastructure for that community now.
